The 1792 Contract Rifle was the newly formed US Government's first contracted military weapon. These rifles were supplied by several gun makers with as many variations. Some of these guns were later refitted with 1803 US gov't stamped locks.
It is believed these guns accompanied Lewis & Clark in their historic expedition.
